The Club At Savannah Harbor
Long Drivers will be able to test their skills on the range at The Club At Savannah Harbor on June 16th, 2018. The competition begins at 2 PM when players will hit two sets of six balls to hopefully be among the top 80% in their division. Eighty percent of the hitters in each division will transfer to the Amateur Long Drive™ World Championship in Myrtle Beach, SC August 16-18th. There will be divisions for male and female Youth (12 & under), Junior (13-14), Adult (16-49), Senior (50-64), and Super Senior (65+) as well as divisions for Adaptive Long Driver. The “official” age of a competitor (for this championship) is determined by their age on January 1, 2018.
There will be a Veterans division in the 2018 ALD World Championship. Veterans may play in both their amateur age division as well as veterans division. Veteran divisions are determined by the VGA (Veteran Golfers Association) and all active and former military are welcomed to compete.
Play A Round
Participants should make plans to play a round at The Club At Savannah Harbor before the competition. There will probably be enough time to get in at least 9 holes after the ALD Qualifier. We’ve gotten reports from others that the course is in great shape. Don’t miss the opportunity to play one of the Southeast’s finest.
As of this writing there are four remaining confirmed qualifiers. June 1st Mulligans Golf & Games in Salt Lake City, Utah, The Club A Savannah Harbor, June 16th, Willow Creek in Des Moines, Iowa July 21st, and the Last Chance Qualifier at Barefoot Resort & Golf at the World Championship August 16th (+1 hour on the 17th). Anyone not previously qualified is welcome to the Last Chance Qualifier. There will not be any preset order for that day. The entire afternoon from noon until 6 PM is set aside for qualifying. Please check the “Qualifying Schedule” tab on our website at https://amateurlongdrive.com/qualifying-schedule for additions, updates, and changes to existing schedules.
