Posting of Schedule Changes

Fortunately to date we’ve only had to make a couple of schedule changes. We will ALWAYS post changes on the website under “Qualifying Schedules” (https:/amateurlongdrive.com/qualifying-schedule) as well as on Facebook. Please make it your practice to check before traveling to an event.

Midwest Qualifier
We’ve added a Midwest Qualifier in Des Moines, IA at Willow Creek on July 21st. We’re still working with sponsors on the exact time of the event as they would like to have the event at night.  Please check back for those details.
World Championship Lodging
There are lodging suggestions for the World Championship on the website under the “Lodging” tab. The onsite accommodations at Barefoot Resort are very reasonable and could sell out. Please book early to ensure availability.  We’re still working on some lesser expensive beachfront options for those who would like to stay on the beach. But….Barefoot Resort is very close to the beach.
Veterans
Reminder – There will be a Veteran division for the World Championship. All active and former military may compete in this division according to the VGA (Veteran Golfers Association) classifications. Veterans may also compete in other divisions where appropriate…ie: Super Senior, Senior, Adult, and Adaptive.
World Championship Schedule (tentative – final schedule may be adjusted slightly)
-Qualifying
Thursday August 16th is set aside for qualifying. If you have not yet qualified at a regional event, you may do so between noon and 6 PM on Thursday. There’s no set order for that day. We’ll get you in the qualifying rotation when you arrive. There will be another hour of qualifying on Friday August 17th from noon to 1 PM. That round is the last opportunity to qualify for the World Championship.
-Competition Rounds
Sign in for the Competition Rounds can be done anytime Thursday afternoon and will open at 10 AM Friday August 17th. You must be signed in and on the grid by 1 PM Friday. Competition eliminations will begin at 1 PM on Friday August 17th. Order will be determined by blind draw. These rounds will continue throughout the afternoon and evening (if needed) to determine who will transfer into the Championship Rounds.
-Championship Rounds
Championship Rounds will begin at noon on Saturday August 18th and will continue until all division champions have been determined. You must be on the grid by noon Saturday.
-Open Championship
Eligibility for the Open Championship Rounds will be determined by your longest drive during previous rounds. The qualifying distance will be announced and posted at the beginning of the event. Open Championship elimination rounds will begin at 6 PM Saturday August 18th. The longest in each Open division (Amateur, Veteran, & Adaptive) will compete to become the Open World Champion on live television beginning at 8 PM Saturday night. This part of the schedule is firm.
Please note….if you have qualified at a regional event, you do not have to be present Thursday August 16th for competition purposes. You must be signed in and on the grid by 1PM Friday the 17th. There will be welcome party Thursday night after qualifying. Details to follow.
