Pre-Tournament Details

If you have not yet qualified, you will need to do so Thursday August 16th at the event location, Barefoot Resort & Golf Driving Range (see attached for address). Sign in opens at 10 AM, There will be open qualifying from noon until 7 PM. Please come as early as possible as this will be a full schedule of 4 wide qualifying. The Last Chance Qualifier on Friday is primarily for the Veterans Division.There may be limited qualifying positions available, but don’t take the risk. Qualify Thursday if at all possible!

All competitors are required to Sign In to be eligible to compete in the Competition Elimination Rounds that begin Friday at 1 PM. Sign In Opens Thursday at 10 AM and Friday at 9 AM at the range. Please Sign In Thursday if possible.

All that have qualified will be randomly grouped by division (when possible). We’re planning to give each competitor 2 rounds of 6 ball sets (final format decisions made day of play). We will take the longest 4 to the championship rounds in all divisions except Adult Male. We will take the longest 8 Adult Males to the Championship Rounds.  We may adjust this during the Competition Rounds based upon total numbers. We’re considering taking a round of 16 Adult Males to the Championship. There are currently 80+ hitters registered in that division.

Each division will hit hit a 6 ball set. The longest 2 will compete for the Championship in all divisions except Adult Male. Adult Male competition will include a 6 ball set round of 8 hitters (possibly 16) to determine the longest 4. That round of 4 will hit a 6 ball set to determine the round of 2….who will hit a 6 ball set to determine the Division Championship. Please note:

The longest 4 (of the day) Amateurs, The longest 4 Veterans, and the Longest 4 Adaptive hitters will compete in the Open World Championship Elimination Round Saturday at 6 PM to determine the longest in each of the 3 divisions. Those 3 (1 Amateur, 1 Veteran, 1 Adaptive) will compete on live television for the Open World Championship beginning at 8 PM.

Thursday August 16th will be a demo day with several club manufacturers present. Shark Attack Golf will be there with their awesome lines of Yeti (and other) clubs, shafts, and apparel, Callaway Golf, Krank golf, and Bobby Peterson’s One Stop Power Shop will also be present. Dr. Grind of Grind Golf will be present for any repair, adjustment, or assembly needs.  If you’re looking for long drive equipment, there’s not a better representation anywhere than this group of vendors.

Brian Stefan will be joined this year by 3-time World Long Drive Champion Sean ‘The Beast®” Fister and reigning World Long Drive Masters Champion Jeff “Critter” Crittenden.

We’ve fielded numerous questions about how we measure clubs. We use the same device the WLD uses. It is a Mitchell Golf CLUBLENGTH Measuring ruler. We have no idea how this compares to other measurement methods used by the old LDA…or any other organizations. This is what we use. There are no exceptions.  If your club is longer than 48 inches on the Mitchell device you will need to make it legal and have it rechecked before competing with it. Repeat: It cannot exceed 48″ on the Mitchell CLUBLENGTH device.

If the head is one the USGA conforming list, it is legal to use.

Friday August 17^th – 7 PM Championship Kick-off Pizza Party at Putters Pub behind grid.

Saturday August 18^th – 12 Noon Championship Rounds begin. 2 rounds (possibly 3 Adult Male)

Saturday August 18^th – 6 PM Open World Championship Elimination Rounds begin
